Facilities

The airport (IATA code: CDT; ICAO code: LECH) is located in the municipal districts of Vilanova d’Alcolea and Benlloch, 32 kilometres to the north of the city of Castellon and 100 km from Valencia. It is in a strategic position near the thousand-year-old Via Augusta and equidistant from the main holiday areas in the province. Access from the south is on the CV-10 dual carriageway and from the north on the CV-13 road that links up with the N-340 and the AP-7 motorway. The airport has a surface area of around 540 hectares and is classified as 4D. It opened in December 2014.

Runway

The runway is 2,700 metres long by 45 metres wide.

The associated taxiing strips provide access to the 68,150 m2 airport apron for up to 9 category D aircraft.

A square building, 25.90 metres high.

Passenger terminal

A two-storey building with a surface area of 10,450 m2. The ground floor is dedicated to arrivals and departures and the boarding gate area is on the first floor. There are concessions, security areas, facilities and administrative areas on both floors.

Fire fighting services

The Airport Fire Service (SEI) faces the runaway, so any point in the movement area can be reached in under three minutes.

This building has a basement, ground floor and flat roof and a service tunnel under the runway.

Other buildings

The airport has a building for meteorological equipment and Aerocas offices. There is also a falconry for the Fauna Control Service And a visitor reception centre.
